Movin' on up!
I have had cats who could pop the lid off of Pounce treats. Had to keep them in the nightstand drawer.

If Rowdy gets into the back room, she will shred the dry cat and dog food bags. We buy big ones and store them in there.

That's nothing.

One of my female cats who has exceptional manual dexterity and way too much brain power has figured out how to OPEN THE RERIGERATOR!!! We eventually had to place the garbage can in front of it for a quick fix. This is the same cat who drinks water with her paw (scoops it up and drinks out of it..) so I'm not surprised!

I don't have to worry about Pounce treats.
When these two were little (like 4-5 months old), they somehow managed to knock the can of Pounce treats off of the counter, get the cap off, and ate 3/4 of the can in one sitting.
Neither of them are too fond of Pounce after that! Now, Whisker Lickin's are a totally different story. The open ones are kept in a treat jar, the not opened bags are kept in a closed cubby in the headboard.

My little dachshund, who is 15 this year, got a whole bag of bil-jac cat treats out of a bag I left in a chair and ate the whole bag. She was soo sick, I thought she was going to die, honestly. She was so bloated and sick for the first day and then she would just lay around and not eat for about 2 days after that. I syringed water in her mouth so she would get fluids and she finally got ok. The vet told my husband that it could have killed her. She said it makes their heart race. I did notice that they have alot of sodium in them so maybe thats why. I have to make sure I keep mine up in a cabinet so they wont get into them or I'm sure they would break into the bag too!

I left a new bag of cat food sitting in my hall once after coming home from the grocery store. One of the cats ripped into it and had a snack. Now their food is up on the top shelf in my kitchen. Molly also tore into a bag of treats, so they are up high, too.

Faile also has a good nose. I bought her one of those fur mice, sat the bag on the floor, and a few minutes later she was playing with it. She must have gone into the bag and got it for herself.

I see the cat eye too.

We had a cat that used to break into brownie packages if left them sitting free. We always worried because of the chocolate, but it never seemed to hurt him.

Toes rips open bags of litter--he doesn't use it, but he scatters it around the house so I've gotten used to hiding the litter and cat food up high where they can't reach it (Tailer can even pop open the big tin I keep the catfood in so I have to keep that out of reach too).

Here's a picture of my late Tarbaby with his brother, Barney who also crossed the bridge. I loved these boys so much. It's nice to know that they can still watch over us...I like to think so anyway...

Kim, I have that same afghan -- the one with the cats on it. My sister gave it to me for Christmas several years ago. I love that afghan, it's so cute.

I like to think that GoGo was able to read the bag. It's cuter that way. Maybe he also read "big bag" at the top and thought, "Hey, this must be for me. No one will mind if I open it myself."

LMAO!! I love that - I agree...I can just hear GoGo's reasoning, "BIG bag...must be for me!"
