What was that bite for?

Last night my husband and I were getting ready for bed. He wanted me to come over and cuddle/lay with him on his side of the bed, so I headed over there. There was a large mound of covers in the middle of the bed, and I was struggling to get over them. In the process, I ended up with my butt sticking up in the air trying to get my legs over the covers, when all of a sudden Nora bit me on the butt. She NEVER bites...well, maybe if my son is being mean to her, then she may nip but I don't blame her at all. She never bites for no reason.

Anyway...do you think she thought I was falling and she was trying to catch me? It was less a bite than she was grabbing my pants with her teeth and pulling. Kind of weird. She has never done anything like that before and she didn't do it again. What do you think??

I have no idea. The mysterious feline mind, is what I think.

After living with cats for so long, I kind of wonder more and more about them. Or rather I expect them to do peculiar things sometimes, things out of character.

Who knows what she thought? I wouldn't worry unless she starts repeating that behavior.

I hope you let her know you didn't appreciate it. I find that the best way to get rid of cat behavior I don't want is to let them know that I'm NOT pleased.

Hard to say. It sounds like it was an unusual situation that provoked an unusual reaction. Strange, true but I wouldn't worry about it unless it happens again.
