Well, Dante and Charlotte have worked out somewhat of a truce now (I've decided she is basically just a grouchy old lady) but....
Charlotte keeps attacking Dante and taking his food. If the catfood I bought him were cheap, I wouldn't mind this so much-- but it's not.-- and she's already overweight. He's on a special diet of grain free food for allergies, and I don't appreciate it when the older cat decides she's going to harass my boy into submission, then chow it all down while I'm not looking. It costs me almost 30 dollars a bag and it's enough that Dante is already a very big cat (Maine Coone). When this happens he wakes me up at 3 am to loudly announce that he didn't get enough to eat last night. Our house is pretty big, and the cats live in the "Main area" which comprises the kitchen, living room, and dining room. Charlotte sleeps and spends most of her time in roommates' bedroom, but dante is not allowed in our bedroom because my boyfriend is mildly allergic.
She's fed plenty-- I guess it's just a dominance thing.
Any way I can keep her from doing it? I've talked to the roomies about this problem and they don't really seem to bother-- but it's not their dime she's gobbling.
