Hello Everyone!
Two or three weeks ago I wrote about my little cat 'Spunky' having a 'smelly' ear. I did take her to the vets and she definitely had a bad ear infection. She was treated with peroxide and an antibiotic for two weeks. When I took her for her check-up last Friday, the vet cleaned out her ear a bit more and said she could see that there was a 'benign' tumour about halfway up her ear canal.
She said that surgery could be done for this, but I gather it is a bit complicated and she is an elderly cat. After discussing the problem, my vet suggested applying a few drops of peroxide to this ear a couple of times a week to keep it from becoming re-infected.
Thank you all so very much for your help previously. - And for the warning that she might have a tumor in her ear. Although it is not what one wants to hear, at least I was prepared.
This is a great site and I have recommended it to many of my friends who own cats. Wonderful support group with excellent advice!
Hugs to all and to all the 'fur babies',
Christine
