One of my kitties threw up just a tiny bit of clear liquid the other day -- nothing else in it. He's drinking/eating and eating/pooping. Today I found a clear wet spot on the floor with fur scattered through it, but not in a hairball form. It looks more like it would have someone had cut his (although it may be hers -- they're the same color) fur and it fell to the floor. Is this normal? I'm just used to seeing vomited/regurgitated hair in clumpy hairball form.

The little bits of hair don't bother me, what bothers me is that there was nothing else in the vomit. The hairs were there because they were in his stomach, but it doesnt sound like there was enough to induce a hairball. Watch out for more episodes of throwing up, it might be something like an allergy or something serious. If it gets worse, I'd go to the vet.

Hmm. He's definitely been eating (a lot, as per usual). So, why would there just be clear liquid and hair in it, I wonder.

I would suggest calling the vet if this is the first time... I have four cats three with hairball s at times... all three have very different hairballs, one is mainly water with a bit of hair

Hi. Shermie has done that a couple times but he also seems completely normal. I haven't worried too much about it since it's not continual or frequent or anything. I didn't bring it up to the vet but if he keeps doing it I definitely would. especially if it happens frequently in a short period of time. Sorry I can't give any more advice...Good luck!! =)
