New Member and Kitten from Pennsylvania!

Hello Everyone!

Just thought I would post here since I am a new member. We got our kitten about 3 weeks ago and he is now around 7 weeks old. Here are some pictures of the little rascal, his name is Dusk.

PS: Could anyone tell me what kind of cat he is by any chance? He is all black with a white spot on his chest, deep blue eyes, and has long hair. He always plays hard then sleeps hard. Loves to be cuddled while hes laying down for a nap.

Here he is:

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to TheCatSite Renegade,
Dusk is adorable.
I could be wrong but my guess is that your sweetie is an american mix.
My little panther Isis, has a little white spot on her chest too.

If he has papers that would be a different story...
were did you get him?
I think his eyes will change color soon.
Regardless, he is a darling kitten and is going to grow into a really handsome adult.

We got him from a friend of the family. No information was given to us besides that he was about 4 weeks old and they didn't want to keep any kittens that their cat gave birth to. I am not sure what breed the momma cat is and she got pregnant while she was outside so thats why I am a little curious.

Thanks for the compliments, I am excited to watch him mature and grow into an adult cat!

I recommend, if you have not already done so, get Dusk established with a vet.
You will want to begin kitten inoculations and worming asap.

Yep, was going to do that in the next week or two. Thanks for the heads up though.

I know it varies depending on the vet but would you have any idea how much it would cost for an 8 week old kittens (strictly indoors) first vet appointment with all the shots and everything?

It really depends on the area...
if you have a vet in mind, call and ask if they offer a new kitten special.
Look in your local ads too, some vets offer coupons for new patients.
Good luck.
Keep us updated.

Welcome to TCS. What a cute kitten. Any mixed breed is considered a DSH (Domestic Shorthair) or DLH (Domestic Longhair). It's really hard to tell when they're that young how long their hair is going to be. Most kittens are pretty fluffy at that age and it can go either way.

Good luck with your new baby.
