Lazlo, Sheldon, Spooky, and Tuxedo were siblings all brought inside at different times. Their mom taught them not to talk. I think Lazlo got left behind on the first family excursion because he wouldn't shut up. So Lazlo was our only talker for a while, and he wasn't talking to us. The rest didn't start talking until we adopted Flowerbelle - who is deaf, and can't hear herself talking.

Even then, it took them about a year or so... and the three of them have the funniest voices - having gone unused for three years.
Flowerbelle chirps the cutest little chirps when she wants treats or play or attention. If we don't listen the first time around, she has the funniest sounding little bark.

She can also make the loudest noises - we're always impressed that her little lungs can make so much noise.
Billy used to talk about everything. "Mom/Dad Lazlo looked at me funny!" "Mom/Dad, THERE'S A BIRD OUT THE WINDOW!" Now he doesn't talk as much - but he does sit in the middle of the living room at night after we're in bed and make a sad kind of Mrrrrrrrooooooooooowwwwwwwww when he wants someone to play with him. Flowerbelle and Ming Loy (his play buddies) do NOT come running.

We'll call out to him - and after a couple of back-and-forths, he'll usually come in here (and of course we've got wand toys at the ready).
Lazlo... he'll MEOW in this huge bellowing voice when he WANTS to be brushed. It's funny any time other than like 4:00am. He also communicates with aliens. We think he's an alien plant, and he's just reporting back to the mothership.

Dinner can be quite the chorus. (And "dinner" is our generic word for meal. We stopped free feeding, and now they get 4 "dinners" a day.

). Billy or Ming Loy start it. Ming Loy always announces to everyone there's food about. She gets SO excited and just runs around announcing that it's meal time to the rest.

Billy's just telling us to hurry up. Lazlo always joins in, and he's just doing the "hurry up" thing too. Shelly sometimes does as well. Between the four (or five) of them, it's quite the choir. Flowerbelle doesn't add her chirps, but she likes eating in the bathroom, and she stands on the toilet and pokes her head out and waves her paw around.

Tuxie and Chumley talk to say "HI." Chum says hi every morning. I don't know how to describe it, but it's the sweetest greeting.

I always walk over and headbump him and "brush" him with my head.
Tuxie - our tough, crazy, terrorist alpha kitty, has the girliest, squeekiest high-pitched meow that sounds like... OW. He bounces and pings around here like Ricochet Rabbit and will stop for a moment to say "HI!" er... that is "OW."
Spooky has a plaintive little mrrrow when she wants pets and we're not paying attention. But usually she talks just to complain (like when I pick her up or I'm not petting her "just so"), and it's just a very grumbly kind of noise.
