need new dry cat food

I have a young (less than year old) male tiger cat. I have been feeding him Science Diet dry food. I started out with the Optimal formula, but noticed sometimes he threw up so I switched to Senstive Stomach. He still throws up sometimes. I am wondering if he just doesn't chew it up. I want him to have a good dry food and so far he hasn't had any UTIs (knock on wood) and he hasn't had any hairballs. I would like some suggestions on a good dry food. I buy his food at Pet Supplies Plus. How good is Taste of The Wild?

I have read on this site, that grain free for male cats can contribute to UTIs. What is a good dry food that has some grains in it?

It can ... but you noted to date no issues...

Depends what you are wanting to avoid in a food... IMHO most any of the truly premium foods ( ie corn is not the primary protein ,no animal by products in a dry food and no soy are worth a look)..

In the same $$ range as SD would be Nutro , Diamond, Chicken soup, blue buffalo, by nature

So far he hasn't had any UTIs and I want to try to prevent them, if possible. He does drink a lot of water, so I know that is good. I just want a good food for him without breaking my bank account.

I recently switched from science diet optimal myself. The options I tried were chicken soup, taste of the wild, and wellness CORE. Taste of the wild sat best in my cats' stomachs, and they didnt get gassy like they did on CORE and chicken soup (though chicken soup was better in that resepct than CORE)

Diamond regular or Diamond Natural, sharky? The regular Diamond cat maint. food is loaded with yucky stuff, whereas the "natural" at least has meat in it.

I also feed Taste and have a puker... his puking is mostly due to gobbling his food.

I feed TOTW to my 2 and 3 year olds (one male/one female). They like it and I like the ingredients and the price. I like that it's grain free and all natural, but it's not so protein-rich that normally would be too rich for my cats. I tried the grain frees like Wellness and Core, but they were just too rich. TOTW is a lot better on their stomachs. (and a lot better on my wallet).

I also like that it's lower in calories (390 cal/cup vs like 450 in some others). Because I have an overweight female (17 lbs). Rather than change her dry food, I've started to feed her more wet food, less dry, and wet food that has lower calories than I had been feeding, so I hope that it starts to come off. (Plus I've been making her exercise more!)

I have the same concerns about the OP with regard to UTIs and blockages, but mine haven't had any issues so far.
