Amazing the difference 1 year can make in their lives, isn't it?

One year ago on December 6th, I took pity upon a poor, sad, pathetic, & over-looked half-grown kitten @ the shelter - I took her home to foster. Little did I know just how special that little girl would turn out to be. Get out the Kleenex if you read her "home-coming" thread.

She always has & always will hold a piece of my heart. She's not a foster anymore, as she wasn't getting adopted - I thought it was likely best for her to just stay here furr-ever, I have no faith in people to provide her w/ the medical care she needs (regular bloodwork, meds 2x/day for life, etc). That & she has some behavioral issues.....she is a very slow learner & seemingly doesn't have the capacity to fear. The switches in her head never got wired right.

She's learned so much, come so far - she can jump, she learned she doesn't have to walk in tiny circles to get anywhere, she no longer spins when she feels strong emotions. She's learned to jump a baby gate, climb on the bed/couch. She even learned how to get up into the cat tree, AND back down!
She seems to lack common sense & the capacity to fear - but man does she love everyone & anyone.
She can climb the stairs, chase toys, & chase moving toys. She still cannot walk on linoleum worth a hoot, is very un-coordinated, & is still quite skinny - but we take what we can get.

Lola as a baby @ the shelter -

Lola then, when she came "home" -

As she settles in -

As she relaxes, in a very literal sense! -

Lola now -

That's my long winded way of saying "Happy Anniversary" Lola Foofy Tail - love you baby girl!

Lola could not have a better home. She is so lucky to have you in her life.

She is gorgeous.

It's those ones that need us that tug at our hearts so. Give her a hug from Farleyv!

PS...I think she needs more toys!

Happy Anniversary, Lola! It's amazing how much progress she's made, Nat - you've certainly made a big difference in the life of your beautiful little girl.

I am crying rivers here after I read her story. She is incredibly, incredibly sweet and obviously she is MADE OF LOVE. What a gift she is to you and what a gift you are to her (sobing some more). I do believe that "cats are God's gift to humans" and she is nothing but that. I remember seeing a thread lately about her and I thought how remarkably sweet her face is. Now that I read her story, I am sad for her sadness and HAPPY for her joy and new life. Thank you dear universe and God for allowing such goodness in Lola's life

My goodness, there was no indication when she was a kitten of just how ridiculous her tail would become!

Such a special girl, and she's so lucky to have you Natalie.
Happy Anniversary!!

I usually say - has it been a year ALREADY? But in Lola's case, my reaction was - my goodness, it's only been a year?
She's packed a lot into that year!

She is one lucky girl to have found her way into the purrfect home, Nat.

HAPPY WELCOME HOME FURREVER DAY, LOLA!

I know - I was thinking it had been 2 years now already.

And I'd like to thank Sarah (sarahp) for the last part of her name - Foofy Tail!
