We have a DSH Tabby/Calico (Tabbico) named Tabitha is staying at a friend's house in North Portland. My friend, Shannon, took her in on the temporary basis of the owner providing food and other supplies for Tabitha. Well, this owner hasn't done anything in a few months now, so under Oregon law, Shannon is now the owner. This is where the problem comes in.

Tab is anxious and picking fights with the other girl kitties in the house. She's on anxiety meds, but has only started them in the last couple of weeks. She's been taking chunks of fur out of the other girls. She's very lovey with humans and LOVES to be snuggled. She's been bounced around, abandoned by various people, abused in Seattle (which is why she was in the shelter up there, due to an abusive home). She needs a permanent home. Preferably where she's the only girl kitty. Shannon would keep her if she wasn't picking fights with the others.

I'd rather she not have to go to a shelter, but I've brought up C.A.T. (where i got Portia from), as a last resort. She needs to go somewhere SOON... I can't say it's really urgent, like the next 48 hours, but as soon as humanly possible.

She's a polydactyl kitty, seven toes on each front paw. LOVES catnip (I met her before when she was really nipped out, so adorable and wanting attention). I'll be up there tomorrow to get a good picture of her.

Anyone close by who can help? Preferably with some laid back male kitties?

Has anyone taken the time to work with her about her aggressive tendencies?

I don't think any has. If i could, I'd take her to foster and rehab her, but i have no room. Her last owners (the ones who asked Shannon to foster her) were not the best when it comes to knowing what to do. When I met her, she was all hopped up on catnip and very friendly. Now that she's out with the general populace of the rest of the feline household, she's apparently picking fights. I don't know what she's doing. Shannon, while she's a good friend, is not always on top of correcting bad habits in cats. She's always had cats from early kittenhood and has never had to integrate an adult into her household... at least not in recent years. I haven't witnessed her aggression myself. I should go up and assess her. Shannon has her own anxiety issues, which may be leading to Tab's anxiety. I don't know.

Thanks,
Amanda
