I'm fairly new here, and thought I was alone in the world with my large household of cats. When I see the number of folks that are just like me: cat fanatics, calls themselves "mom", has a lot of them (10+), and lives their lives for their cats....I feel normal again.

Don't you hate it when someone finds out about all of your cats and they say "oh, you're one of THEM". In this forum, we are all "THEM's"!! woohoo!! Does that ever happen to you?

Not a bit, Kev! Not unless I look at my husband the same way. He's no less besotted than I. In fact, I have a wonderful pic of him with Daddy's Girl, Fawn. It's hard to tell which is the soppier of the two!

My husband won't admit it, but he is as hooked on cats as I am. Here is he with his favorite dumplin' Scarlett:

LOL!!

I know, it is wonderful to be able to talk about having a houseful of cats and not get looked at (or commented at) like you're insane. To think that once upon a time, I said "This is it, four cats is enough. This is the last one." That was when we adopted Lilith. Little did we know, she was smuggling kittens and we were soon to end up with 6 little furbabies, which brought the count to ten...

Fifteen is the limit, though. It is hard and heartbreaking to say that, I have recently had to say no to someone who was trying to get me to adopt her Abyssinian ( a breed I am in love with), but this is as many cats as can peacefully coexist in this house. Tillie and Pan had some "words" last week over rulership of the attic, we had to talk to both of them and remind them that we have to live in peace here. Fortunately Pan is a kindhearted gal and backed off, seeing as she is at least twice Til's size and has all of her claws, while Til's former owner removed her front ones
Pan was told to respect her elders! (She is 2, Tillie is going on 10.)

I don't want to push our luck and add another cat.

Heck, I got mine a cat tree from eBay that I rented a Uhaul and drove to New York City to pick up! Now THAT's crazy!

I like my cats much better than 95% of my relatives. SO why shouldn't I spoil them rotten?

Well it was worth about $500 at least and I got it on ebay for $35, so the $75 uhaul rental wasn't too bad. I still got a bargain.
