Panting Kitten

I just wanted to make sure this was ok??

My children play with wand toys with olly (4 months) my husband was talking to a colleague at work who has 5 cats about what the best were for him to keep him stimulated he has a lot of energy. She said to get a pen laser light looks like a key ring but when you press a button it makes a red dot appear on the floor. she said he will love to chase the dot. so we got one off ebay.

well it turned up today and ollie was full of beans as always i got it out and as soon as i started moving the red dot around the floor he was chasing it trying to paw it and generally running round like a looney after it.

after about 5 mins play i noticed his tongue out and he was panting - i have never known cats to pant. i stopped playing and called him over he was roasting hot then he went to lay down by the front door which has a slight draught to it hes now snoozing away,

sdid he just over exert himself and got very hot hence the panting or should i be worried about anything??

Lynxx panted once after my grandfather painted the walls. We got him right to the vet. The vet said he had asthma. He never panted again after that. After that we kept a closer eye on him while he played.

My cats all pant in wamer weather (not sure where you live), they were racing around yesterday and today all panting but it's 35c so they have good reason to be puffed
