This is a spinny from the "What's on your Christmas list?" thread. I love to give presents. I had the most fun shopping for Secret Santa gifts...trying to find things I thought my Santee would enjoy. And I really hope she likes them.

My Secret Santa (Kailie)
sent lots of cat toys, so my babies don't lack for anything in that department. They may or may not get a cat tree...ours is good, but Speck doesn't jump, so we need one with a ramp that reaches the top level. (Off topic, but when he was a kitten, he watched our elderly Siamese cat climb to get up on the sofa, etc. I think that's why he climbs instead of jumps...since cats learn from watching other cats.)

For DH, I am buying clothes.

For my mother, perfume and a lead-free crock pot.

For my mil, a beautiful Christmas picture. And something else, but what???

And there ends the shopping I've done so far.
I am usually long finished before now. But there is a craft fair coming up this weekend, so there's hope.

We play "Dirty Santa" at a couple of parties. Last year, I took lottery tickets to one and they were a big hit. I'm thinking of doing that again this year.

There are only a few people I am shopping for this year.

My aunt and uncle (who live next door and are our landlords) are getting a set of DVD games. We all get together and play games often, so I think they'll like this.

My Grandparents are getting a jam basket.

My youngest brother is getting an HMV gift card. He LOVES gift cards.

My other brother and his GF are getting a "night out at the movies", 2 tickets, 2 popcorn, and 2 pop.

So far for Dana I have a new watch, a ring he's had his eye on, a t-shirt, a pair of slippers, a tin of incredible fudge, and a multi purpose knife. I also want to get him a new winter jacket and some more work clothes.

I also still need to get something for my nephew, but he's only 2, so it won't be too hard.

We had to shop for twenty plus people, do you really want a detailed list?
Shortened version: clothes, toys, books, and a few odds and ends. I'll probably toss some handmade stuff in for some people, too.

DH is getting DVDs, toy boats, a couple of collectible Titanic pins & a t-shirt, and my favorite item---triceratops teeth! Seriously. He's a nut for triceratops, for some reason, and you can actually buy fossils on ebay.

Last year we got my 88 year old Mom a cd player, assuming she'd never use it but hoping she would. I believe she uses it daily.
She's getting the new Susan Boyle cd and something else, but who knows what?

MIL and her hubby are getting a gift certificate to their favorite restaurant and some other small item maybe.

Sister is crazy for Celtic, so I always get her something Irish. Have to find her something cat-related, too; she has 3 kitties.

BIL will get a food gift of some sort that he will probably feed to his dog.

My Uncle Joe, the retired carpenter, is getting a "World's Best Carpenter" mug filled with mints.

For BF, I got him a leather jacket. We're going to Jamaica next month, so we didn't buy each other that much, as it'll be sort of a late Christmas present.

For my parents, I got them a Bulk Barn gift card and a sheepskin dog bed for my childhood babies that I didn't get to see this year.

For my brother, an iTunes gift card.

For BF's parents, we got them a DVD and a gift card to Kelsey's restaurant.

For BF's sister and brother in law, a gift card to Babies-R-Us (they're expecting their first baby) and a chocolate basket.

For BF's brother, a jersey of his favourite football player.

For Kona and Jeta, our dogs, Cuz balls, bully sticks and a tire toy.

For Blossom, a catnip filled mouse.

My parents, nothing. They refuse to do Christmas

Unsure what my in-laws want as of right now.

Getting BIL a Marlin goose gun like the one I take to turkey shoots.

Not sure if my brother plans on doing anything for Christmas or not (he lives with my parents, so probably not).

For hubby, he wants me to just pay on his tool bill at work, but I also got him a movie to add to his zombie collection. Gonna say its from the cats, they needed to get their daddy something

I got my good friend two shirts, one that says Defy Gravity, and has a silks silhouette on it, and another that says "Forget the gym, just give me a pole" and has the name of a studio in NC that we go to on the back.

Here's what we've done thus far (and really we're fairly finished):

DH: Cuisinart ice cream maker (in red....he's wanted this for a few years now and I couldn't find it), cargo net for his truck, Led Zepplin book, Penn State book, Taz ornament (he collects them), and some other things.

Son and wife: A digital camera (Canon) from their wish list with the case, some lenses, etc.

Grandkids: Toys from their lists

My in-laws: We have DH's mom on our cell phone plan, so we just pay for that every month and buy her something small. We also try to take her to dinner about every other month. For DH's dad, we're not sure yet. They have everything they need and they always say, "Oh we don't need anything! Don't worry!"

My parents: We usually buy them a large gift certificate to Schwans as they have everything they need and they enjoy this.

Furkids: some catnip meeces from Foster and Smith, and some bags of treats for their stockings (we hang the cats' stockings on our railing with ours....each cat has his or her own stocking).

I sent out goodie packages to seven friends this year....they seem to look forward to receiving their packages. Some cookies, some chocolate covered pretzels and candy from our candy maker in town, and some snack-type foods from our natural foods store, things like that.

I'm still working on my Christmas list. So since I have a huge family (and a tight budget), it can get crazy!

So far I have bought for:

Mom: a keychain photo frame- I plan to download pictures to it before I give it to her. I also got her a popcorn tin (she LOVES those!). / She and I have had a tradition of exchanging stockings since I was little, so I plan to grab a few stocking stuffers for her as well.

Jack: I haven't bought anything yet. I would like to replace his Ipod that was stolen several months ago if I can find a reasonable price on a refurbished one; but cost is going to play a big factor in that, so I may come up with something else! I also plan to get him some cologne and stocking stuffers.

My Dad: A new organizer for all of his numbers and files (something he's been wanting). This will be the first holiday season I've ever celebrated with him- so I'm looking foward to it

My Cousin Barton (He's actually my dad's first cousin, but like a second dad to me): no clue yet- I made him a huge care package for his birthday back in October that he loved (blanket, food, candy, candles, etc), so I will probably do something similar!

My sister Kimmy & her husband - a brownie pan (the one with seperate compartments so each brownie has an "edge" Kimmy hinted quite heavily that she wanted one the last time we were out shopping
)

Kimmy's children.... did I mention that ALL 6 kids are teenagers?

Cooper- every year he asks for pengin related things- I've already bought his presents
- blanket, pillow, stuffed animal, ornament and a few other things (he's the most easy to shop for!)

Isaac- a really nice nutcracker ornament - I plan to add a few more small things for him and Cooper.

Taylor, Kianna, Leedora, Lindsay - so far all I've bought for the girls has been lip glosses, but I will add more. I have other nieces/nephews, but I see Kimmy's kids almost daily and they live in the same city, so I typically do a little more shopping for them. There is still a little confusion about whether or not they will all be going out of town for Christmas, so we may celebrate early.

As far as Jack's family goes, I'm making homemade candies for Jack's dad, brother and grandfather. I will be making some of my designer wreaths for his aunt, mom, and grandmother

(Now keep in mind I have 2 other sisters, 5 other nieces/nephews as well as 3 great nieces/nephews (and one on the way!) to figure out something for! That also doesn't count all of my friends or the rest of my family. I'm thinking a family Secret Santa draw is in order this year (where each person picks a name and one person to buy for so everyone is included!) I will likely do something homemade for the rest of my friends/family- some nice candies/ornaments/etc to stay cost -efficient but still give something meaningful.
)

As far as my furbabies go, let's just say they are more than stocked on Christmas presents
Jack works part time at one of the local Petstores while he's finishing his degree/etc and on black friday not only did he get me everything on my list super cheap, he also used his employee discount and was able to get a lot for not a ton of $- My furbabies are going to be SOO spoiled!

Trapped in the catroom! ;o)
I am only purchasing stuff for 3 people one of which is my SS.

I made beanies custom for the females in BFs family, they are custom to their favorite colors and I made a matching beanie for the baby with left over yarn from his blanket. I made dishclothes for the step mother since she has been yammering for almost a year about how she loved handmade dish clothes so I made a whole bunch of different styles colors etc.

The guys...I have no clue what to make for them because they are guys....They dont wear beanies.

Im also making stockings for one of the step siblings family members, hopefully they get the yarn to me this weekend or Im gonna be on a time crunch for Christmas. Ive never made stockings before but I found a relatively easy pattern.

M&K are going to get a couple Disney movies, and possibly an outfit each. We will be doing a seperate Christmas here for them when they sleepover Christmas night.

Im working on a lap blanket right now that probably wont be done in time for Christmas but its for the SIL I see all the time so Ill just tell her her present is gonna be a little late. LOL

My sister and the nieces and nephews are getting gift cards from Amazon, as they're all readers, one has a Kindle, and another is getting one from his mom for Christmas. One nephew is anti-internet, so he's getting a selection of liquids for his electronic cigarette.

DH is getting a bicycle repair book and stocking stuffers, and Jamie and Miezi some gourmet goodies (for humans).

There's no place like home

I've just started thinking about Christmas gifts and haven't come up with any concrete decisions on anything. We just installed new bamboo floors in our home - something DH has wanted to do since he first heard about them. So we'll probably call that our mutual gift to each other and the rest will be stocking stuffers.

I have a couple of friends to buy for. Our families stopped exchanging gifts years ago, and with 1 parent left between us (DH's mom), buying will be easy (mom always gets a gift and it's usually flowers).

I'm way behind on things this year.

Oooh, I love love love buying christmas presents! We have a big list this year, but we know what we are getting for everyone or have all ready bought it.

My mom and step dad are getting a hand/stand mixer combo thing, along with a bunch of new cookie sheets, muffin tins, cake tins, etc. My mom is a crazy awesome baker, and never has everything she needs.

I am also sending my mom a visa gift card to get gifts from me for my sister and step sisters. That way I don't have to ship anything, lol.

My grandparents are going to get a gift certificate to Applebees.

My brother got a birthday/christmas gift last month. He got a bunch of MMA gear- a really nice mouth guard, gloves and hand wraps. Plus a punching bag.

We are getting Pat's sister a "babies first christmas" ornament for her new little man, Michael. We found a place a few years ago that laser cuts pictures into the crystal, so we got her one for Kaiden on his first christmas.

Similarly, for his mom we are getting an ornament with a picture of her holding the babies hand (its just their hands). She got one a few years ago like this with Kaiden's hands, and she adooored it.

Kaiden is getting a 64 count of 1 oz playdoh cup things. He will love it. Mom will hate us, haha.

We are getting Michael an outfit or two.

Finally, Patrick. I was going to get him a new headset for his xbox 360, but then our roomate came home today and showed me what he got him- an insanely expensive surround sound headset. So, there went my idea. BUT I found something even better. A beer mug that can hold two beers, that can be personalized- I'm going to get "Bear's Beer" on it. Also, a membership to a "beer of the month" club for three months. They send 12 bottles of microbrewed craft beer at the end of each month. He will ADORE that.

Honestly, I would rather give then get!

For my sister, I paid her phone / internet bill. She doesn't know it yet. I may be helping her pay for her bankruptcy lawyer too

other than that, nothing, just can't afford it. DH hasn't had a job in more years than I can remember and I'm going to be taking a hit in my paycheck with the cost of health care going up, so ... nothing again this year.

That's really nice, what you did for your sister. I'm sure it will mean a great deal to her.
