So, they've opened a Petco near me, and I think I'm going to pay them a visit this weekend. I'm not familiar with what brands they carry - does anyone have any recommendations for good quality canned food I might not be able to get at Petsmart or Pet Supermarket?

Thanks Sharky, I'll try the house brand. Unfortunately, they won't eat Wellness.

What my petco has is: merrick, wellness, wellness CORE, blue buffalo, purino pro, nutro MAX, nutro natural choice, royal canin, science diet (regular and culinary creations), natural balance, soulistic, spa select, and all that cheap crap like friskies and meow mix

Not sure what your petsmart has, so I listed them all

Our girls eat Blue Buffalo, Avoderm, Organix and Merrick's B.G (Before Grain) line (not the "gourmet entrees"). The only problem with Petco, is that they don't carry any raw cat food, which is even better nutrition.

The Soulistic is made by Weruva exclusively for PetCo, so that is one that you wouldn't find anywhere else. They do have really good sales on it at times. I don't think it is on sale now(could be wrong), but for about 3 weeks, up until last week, it came out 67 cents a can (normally 89 cents).

Just like PetsMart, you will have to get a "PetPerks" card to get the good prices.

I don't know about Pet Supermarket--we don't have that here--but as opposed to PetsMart, PetCo has the Soulistic, Merrick, Halo, & Organix.

They run sales regularly, but many of their everyday prices seem to be higher than PetsMart's everyday prices.

Thanks everyone. I am going to get a few of the different kinds to see if they like it. Then if they do, I'll watch for the sales. I think I have a Petco coupon, if I can find it. It looks like the main difference would be the soulistic, Merrick, and Halo, and I think Organix. I'm still trying to find some good food Cindy will eat (as opposed to the kitty crack she prefers).

soulistic and Merrick these are tasty healthy 'kitty crack'... organix is solid but mine will not eat it at all
... halo IMHO is very over priced as it has alot of veggies

Just got back from Petco. I got some Soulistic, before grain, Merrick, Organix, Wilderness, and Halo. I wasn't careful enough, though, cause DH was waiting in the car, so I didn't realize until I got home that the Halo has garlic. I don't feed them garlic. Wonder if I could take it back?

Yes, they will exchange any of them--even without a receipt! If they like the Soulistic--I was wrong on the sale price---2 weeks ago it was on sale and only came out 61 cents a can.

I am constantly having to return and exchange flavors as my new cat loves something one day and then when I stock up on it -- changes his mind

That's good to know. The Soulistic was on sale, I think it was 10 for $8 or something like that. I got every flavor they had. I hope they like some of this stuff

I feed soulistic. I started my cats originally on wellness, and while they would eat that, once I started feeding soulistic, they totally prefer it over wellness, they are not TOO picky, so they would still eat wellness I am sure, but looove soulistic. and I LOVE the price.
