Well, I found out the history of the stray colony I feed, and found articles with photos of them in our feeding station, in the news of a couple years back, so all is fine. The colony's caretaker, a famous local radio and TV woman, died and her friend took care of the cats till some time ago. I didn't know all this till a couple days ago when the building super introduced me to the woman. Most are spayed/neutered, but some aren't, so I'm looking for a good trapper that won't charge much and the municipality will do the rest.
Question is, the last few days very few cats have come while I feed them, I suppose they come afterwards. There was a bully cat sending all the others away the last time we were a big group, and I'm worried that maybe my constant telling him "no" made things worse rather than better?
These are mostly friendly strays, so I was used to being surrounded by them while I fed them. I'd prefer it that way, because then I can see them and make sure they're all ok.
Tomorrow I'll give them another chicken breast party and see if they all appear, but any comments/insights/advice will be much appreciated!!!!
And is it inappropriate to say that I miss them?

We care for ferals, so I'm used to them coming after we put the food out and scattering at the smallest noise we make. Fortunately, we live in a rural area and we feed them right outside, so we can watch them out the window - but that doesn't mean they come when we're looking.
It's not that hard (usually), and most easily done by someone near the location.
