It appears that Tucker got into the garbage and snatched a roast net last week, because there's now around 5 inches of string hanging out of his anus. My dad, not knowing what it was, gave it a teeny tug earlier. The cat yowled and ran off since he was outside. He called me soon after when I was on my way to class.

I'll be calling the vet clinic immediately in the morning* to see what they think, but if he requires surgery to get it out, my mom is just going to have him PTS. She has $4k worth of bills coming up and my tuition payments. I don't have a job to contribute much for vet care. :/

We could use some good vibes that it's not going to need any surgery. I have $200 in my bank account that I was going to use towards pain meds and joint supplements for my 13 year old dog, but Tucker is only 3 years old and I'm not ready to part with him just yet.

*Would love to call now, but I've called the vet at home multiple times in the past and not once have I gotten someone to answer. I'm going to be contacting a zoo veterinarian next time I spot him on FB to get medical advice from him.

I hope you won't have to put him to sleep. I hope it's something that can be fixed easily and not cost a lot of money.

Spent $106 for an exam, something for inflammation, and an x-ray that showed me he'd already passed all the string.

Oh, thank goodness - it could have been so much worse! Boy, I bet everyone at your house is going to be super-careful regarding ribbons and bows and strings....I know I got much 'neater' after I got my kitties.
