He really scared me again. As I was going in through the garage he bolted and I couldn't catch him.
I hadn't closed the garage door yet but I didn't think much of it because it's really dark out and pouring rain so I thought no way he'd be brave enough to go out in this weather...Well I was wrong- he ran out the garage door, and didn't just hide underneath the car parked in the driveway but took a left turn through the lawn and disappeared quickly.
I was SO scared, I ran out in my house shoes which I'd already changed into after him in the dark and rain, not enough time to avoid puddles and pools of water or mud ..Even though I saw him taking a left turn I somehow found him by the front door hiding from the rain which is on the right. I was sooo relieved, only to get slapped with a soaking wet paw in the face as I picked him up
And I was soaked through the knees at the end...The rain in Atlanta has been pouring all day today and it's not stopping until 11, so there are pools everywhere and the highways are flooded. He's just SO silly!!! I don't know why he thinks he is in control all the time and can do whatever he wants....well, actually I do know why, because he's a cat!!

Oh, and by the way he is indoor only so it's not like this is usual for him to go out like this. Usually I'm more careful but this time with the rain I thought there'd be no way he would go out..

All I can say is life is never boring with my Jakey!

Oh Jake, don't do that to your mommy!!

Yeah that is scary, especially since it was dark!! Glad he didn't go far anyway...

Genever sneaks out the back door every now and then and actually runs from me til she's about to jump in the lantana bush where the sparrows hang out, but she hasn't gotten out of the yard ever. (knock on wood!) I am always afraid she will bolt and run away at night- we'd never find her if she went far enough!

Hope you're calmed down and dried off now!!

Oh I know exactly how you feel my Draco actually tore through the screen in my window and took off. Thank goodness my neighbor was up and noticed this white thing taking off across my lawn and was able to catch him. Its so scary

Wow, glad this ended well! I got a mental pic of him slapping you in the face!!
That would happen to me too.....actually it has!

It's great you can laugh about it...some people wouldn't. Just part of loving our kitties!!

The paw slap to the face happened to me....from Banshee one time. That can hurt!

I'm so glad Jake is OK and I can imagine how scared you were.

BTW, I think Jake is just a gorgeous hunk of cat! That boy is beautiful!
