Hey, sorry for spamming you a bit here but I really need your help to save a poor kitty. A couple of days ago, I went to the vet with my little hamster. While discussing its infected eye a loud unhappy sound filled the room: a cat. The vet told me she arrived that day, brought in by a kind woman who found it but couldnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t take care of the costs to help the hurt animal.

So, I instantly said I would and this is where I need your help. Donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t worry, Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]m not asking for money. By coincidence I was already in a contest with a money prize (260 dollar). All Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]m asking is for you to help me win the contest. Itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s not even that much work, I hope. Every cent of the money is going to the cat or another good cause rescuing cats! All you have to do before Wednesday morning is:

How you can help!

1. Become a fan of http://www.facebook.com/koopjesfanaat on Facebook, a project of the Belgian division of eBay. Just click ‘become a fanâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji] and then the backspace to return here.

2. Then go to my album HERE

http://www.facebook.com/album.php?ai...d=479470224696

and click on the like button at the right top of the page (donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t click on the individual pictures). Thatâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s it! You voted!

You can find all information and updates about this cat , I named her Ellie and I already love her so much , on my blog:

http://www.sigridschrijft.be/blognl/...eration-ellie/

Thank you so much for your help! Ellie will get help no matter what but this would make it a LOT easier! Her medical bills were already estimated to be more than 600 dollars. I've been trying to gain votes for days so I could bring it down a bit with the money I d win. Then all I'm asking for Christmas is paid medical bills for this lovely animal.

Oh, and just read the pleas for money post.

Just so you see this is real, even thought I'm asking for just a couple of clicks:

The vet 's website:
http://users.skynet.be/fa406500/tania/

It looks horrible but it has real contact information. Feel free to contact her, but she does speak Dutch
(and English probably )

Again, I don't need money
Just a few clicks would really help our Ellie!

Just a reminder to our members:

5. Solicitations – TheCatSite.com does not encourage or promote solicitation of money from our members. We will help in every way possible with our knowledge and support, but as many of us have multi-cat households and work with local rescue groups, monetary support is not always possible to causes or people we do not personally know. Members are allowed one posting in the SOS forum for each organization. Repeated postings for the same cause or organization will be deleted.

The needs of rescue workers are great and we recognize this fact. To care for multiple cats, find suitable homes, good vet care, food, etc. is costly. From time to time you will see some posts come up to ask for donations for a cause. It is YOUR responsibility to check out these solicitors to the best of your ability. More often, you will see pleas from individuals asking for money to be sent directly to them to assist with veterinary bills. Some come up with slick websites, others just have heartwrenching stories. In each of these cases, the poster is allowed ONE thread, to be placed in Cats SOS.

In either case, if you feel compelled to donate money ask for references, phone numbers, call around the area and find out if this is a legitimate cause or a scam. For personal pleas, get the veterinarian’s contact information and send money directly to the veterinarian to help with bills for that particular cat. If that information is not available, you have the answer if the plea is legitimate or a scam.

Be very careful before you send any money: no matter how effective the plea is, check it out first before opening your wallet.
