Oh no! I was just looking at the gorgeous pictures of Tolly and Eva snuggling and then I read this thread (I am out-of-synch having been away, so bit late). Great news on the progress though. Keeping your lil princess (queen) in thoughts!

I was shocked as well to see this thread. I haven't commented but I sure have watched the little Queen Eva from the time she told you her name until now, and like everyone have fallen for the little raven beauty.

Lots and lots of and gentle
from my crew to her as well. Of course, many
to Queen Eva's family. Your pain and worry come through in your posts, and while we can't possibly know your fear so many of us love your little girl from afar that we are all sending our love to surround both of you during this difficult time.

Oh my God, I just got home from a short trip over the weekend when I saw this thread and my heart just sank. I'll be checking it again when I get up in the morning for what I hope will be another good update. Thoughts and prayers are with you and all your furbabies throughout the night, but especially for Queen Eva.

Thank you, thank you everyone. Your vibes are working. My vet went in at midnight to check on Queen Eva and called and left me a message that our baby girl was bright, alert and comfortable. I must have been in a deep sleep because I did not hear the message until I got up this morning.

I was beyond exhausted so it's not surprising.

The tech gets in at 7:30 so someone is with her now. The phone lines don't open until 9, and that's about what time my vet gets there, so I will know more then, and will of course post an update to all of you, thank you so much for your support and love for my Baby girl Queen Eva.

Your vibes are doing the job.

Thank you for this, I wasn't really sure what the 35% meant, but your comment reassured me and I am sure had something to do with my good sleep, which I very badly needed. The tech did say the transfusion may have something to do with the elevated number, but it was good because she didn't need another, at least not last night.

I miss her so much!

I just talked to the vet! Queen Eva is doing well! She ate a ton of breakfast and her PCV is at 32%. Slightly lower than last night but not drastically so. They will test again this afternoon.

She ate!!!!!

And her belly band has been removed (much to her relief) She's still on pain meds

I'll be going in to visit her later. Still no time frame on when she can come home.

Thank you all, for your support and love.

Your vibes are doing the job!

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
PCV is basically just a different method of measuring red blood cells - slightly different from a hematocrit, which measures volume. Basically normal is different for every cat, but ranges from 30% - 40%. Below 25% is technically anemic. 20% is anemic, but not disastrously so - for most cats. I don't know why they felt it necessary to give her a blood transfusion at 20%, but I'm sure there was a reason.

You two continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. I'm really glad you got some much needed sleep and that wonderful message was waiting for you!
