cats with diarreha

I am sooo sad I have had my precious cat for 1 year now and everything seemed great. I recently acquired a kitty and it was super until it started having diarreha. This happened right after I took him to the vet for his regular check up. 5 days later my 1 year old started with diarreah as well. Mac, the older one, also started throwing up. I am very concerned. The kitty has been treated with metrano.. pill but nothing has helped. The vet wants to check to see if they have trichomonas, I was reading about this and I am so scared!! Does anybody have any advice?

This is strange as it started for both of them once you brought the kitten in...
Did you change their food?

no, the food is still the same

If the older cat did't start until after the kitten was introduced it may be some form of communicable parasite. If it's Tritrichomonas Foetus metronidizole will not likely help. Ronidazole is the only drug proven effective, and it is an off label use of the drug. Has your vet screened for parasites?

Hi. This might be a little late but did your cat ever test positive for Trich? Mine just did... took 4 years to figure this out. He just finished his 14 day dose of Ronizadole and is doing well. I pray it doesn't come back.

Let me know what happened with your poor kitty. Thanks.
