Lonely Kitty?

Thread Starter
I just recently adopted an 8 week-old kitten and I'm concerned it might be getting lonely in my apartment. I unfortunately have to leave it for 8 hours a day during the week, at which time it has no company.

I'm actually wondering if getting a second cat from the same litter might be a good idea. Having never owned a cat before, however, and having a fairly small apartment, I'm wondering as to the pros and cons.

Advice from anyone having gone through this would be appreciated!

I think it's a great idea. Two cats, in my experience, is usually a good number. They keep each other company when you're not there, function as playmates, and it is not much harder to care for two than one. The only thing to remember is two will cost you twice as much as one.

I agree. IMO cats are really social animals no matter what they want us to believe. A playmate would be good and even better if a sibling.
