As a rule, user names aren't changed in order to ensure continuity, and any change made for very significant reasons is at Anne's (the site owner's) discretion.

I do not see how this is misleading at all. If you need to change your username, send Anne a PM or send her an e-mail, he address is anne@thecatsite.com

While I don't see it as being misleading either - it's often hard to tell the difference between a tame feral and a stray cat - since you have under 10 posts, I'm ok with making the change.

Like Tricia said, we prefer not to do that since it disrupts the flow of forum conversations, but if it's a new member with only a few posts, I usually tend to allow a name change.
