Since we bought the car the truck has to be parked outside. I think if we get a severe snow storm we can put the truck in the garage again and moving around some equipment in the other building we should get my new car inside due to its smaller size.

But I was thinking of a truck cover. My dad has to park his truck outside as well size the townhouse complex the live has new mgmt as the maintenance person was letting my dad park in an open garage spot. But he parks on the road currently and I'm afraid someone might steal the cover from the truck?

Anyhow, I would like any opinions on how well they work.

Right now we are lucky if we use the truck once every 10 days!

Years ago when I had a little convertible I used a car cover. Pain in the butt to put on and take off, especially when it's raining or snowing.

I never had it stolen, of course I was living in a small town back then and never had it parked on a busy street. But I'm sure if it had been parked on a street of a city, it would be gone as soon as I turned my back. Everything gets stolen these days unless it's nailed down, and even then people carry hammers to unnail things

As with all things, you'll find it is novelty to start, but it quickly grows old to use. I think I used mine for maybe a month before deciding it wasn't worth the hassle.

Our latest car (station wagon) doesn't fit in our garage (1959 vintage), so we use a car cover at home. It really does help you avoid a lot of window scraping, but you have to make sure it's firmly attached to the car, because a good gust of wind will blow it right off. It's also helpful to mark which end's which (front/back) to save time.

Well since the truck is now the third vehicle it doesn't get used very much. This winter it probably will get driven only when the snow is really bad! Right now its only being used 2-3 times month. So taking a cover off and on won't be a big issue.
