Christmas Cactus question

Thread Starter
My ancient CC is up in an unheated bedroom. It gets heat from the house but is chilly.

I want to bring it down into the livingroom. Everywhere I have looked, it has said they are not toxic to cats. But I don't believe it. My cat Beeba is too precious to take a chance with.

Does anyone have a home where a CC and a cat can live safely?

I've had Christmas Cacti as long as I can remember. I've had cats for 50 years. No problems yet.

However, if I were worried, I'd keep the cactus in a room the cats aren't allowed in. Only one of my current cats shows any interest in eating plants, and then only a Dracaena.

YMMV

Christmas Cacti are entirely non-toxic. They're even edible (for animals that like that kind of thing!). Cats are more of a threat to the plant, LOL. My grandma's CC has kitty teeth marks all over it.
