He has gained 1.4 lbs in one week! His fur is softer. His tail is always up (when I am not trying to take pics LOL)

If he sees me he is coming to get some loves. It was very hard to get a pic. as he was always trying to come to me!

His poop does not stink near as much.

The only thing I have found that makes me unhappy is that he is declawed NO ONE said a word about that to me! The former owner used to let him out on a regular bases!

Thank goodness we have a good set up and he is an older cat. He can go out on the back, screened in porch for some fresh air if he wants. He seems content to be a house cat.

Aw, he is beautiful! How wonderful of you to adopt an older kitty.
I'm so glad you are keeping him inside, he's content and safe and it gives you peace of mind. It's good you are taking pictures, too, in a few more weeks you will probably not recognize him in his old pictures, he will continue to thrive and blossom! After he gets his love-meter full up, he won't be as needy and it will be easier to get pics, although he is adorable in the one you posted.
Have you named him yet?

His coat does look better already! You can see it in the pics! And he IS handsome!

He is one lucky kitty to have found his way to you.

He has made remarkable progress but as somebody mentioned in one of your previous threads be careful to ensure he doesn't put on too much weight, too fast or this could lead to health problems in the future.

The vet is VERY involved with his care. He is the one that said "Kibble in bowl at all times to nibble on. One small can of wet twice a day (total 2 small cans a day)." He would eat more wet IF we put it out. That would be what would cause the over feeding problem we are so worried about. He is gaining an average of 3 oz. a day! WOW!

Oh my! JUST now I look over at my husband watching football on the couch and see Handsome jump on the couch with him for MORE loves! Too cute. That is the first time he has gone to my husband for loves. (My husband is the reason for most of our cats. He is loving having Handsome in our home.)

We are shooting for a total of 20 lbs for Handsome. I plan on taking a new pic. every Sat. so we can "see" his improvement. It is hard to see when you see them every day.

Thanks for all of the kind comments!

He is a Maine Coon (mix??) Vet says he is in all likelihood pure breed. SO when he gets to 20 lbs.he will go see the vet again to see if that is where he needs to be. I really need to put a tape measure to him to show how long/tall he is. He is HUGE (tall/long) compared to the other "regular" cats.

He loves to be brushed/combed. He will RUN over if I wave it in the air. Total bliss. That is how I found out he was declawed. He was making mittens and I noticed it did not hurt so I looked for his claws to see how his nails looked.

WOW! He's really looking a lot better already! Seems like he's adjusting to being in your home and obviously already loving you and your husband. Keep up the good work!

Wow, I'd love to take that little fellow (soon to be a bigger fellow)! He's going to be quite the heartbreaker. Good job!
