So Dana and I are on our second bottle of wine and thought it would be highly amusing to give all of our cats middle names.

Pria has always had a long name... Pria Nermal Goji Nickerson-Hicks.

Now we have...

Shadey Luther Nickerson-Hicks
Elliott Harold Nickerson-Hicks
Imhotep Jeremiah Nickerson-Hicks
Osiris Goomba Nickerson-Hicks
Cleopatra II Petunia Nickerson-Hicks
Nova Hortence Nickerson-Hicks
Azizi Jefferson Nickerson-Hicks
Teyah Madigan Nickerson-Hicks

We obviously have FAR too much time on our hands.

I love Osiris Goomba!!! how did you come up with that

Jake has a middle name too, it's one my dad gave him. It's "Kon" and it's pronounced like "cone", and literally it means horse in Bulgarian...

I like it!

Genever doesn't have a middle name, I don't think.. but then I don't either, so it's ok.

I guess if I had to think of something on the fly, like right now, I would call her Genever P. Murnin. Someone once addressed a christmas card to me as Erica P. Murnin.
I forget what the answer was when I asked what that was about, but it made me laugh a lot for some reason and it always stuck in my mind.

I will ask BF what he thinks her middle name is, when he's done fighting with his computer in the other room..

Two of my three cat's middle names are "J": Bullwinkle J. Moose and Rocket J. Squirrel. Lucy doesn't have an official middle name, but I frequently call her Lucy Lou.

My angel kitty had the longest name ever...Princess Cookie Bacon Bananapants Buchkosky. We also called her Bunny because her fur was so soft.

My dogs have middle names but not the cats. It would take forever to think of enough middle names to go around!

My mother's cat Olivia came with a middle name. Olivia Elizabeth. She came from my step-aunt; who's landlord decided she couldn't have a cat. She also came with an instruction sheet that included how to put her to bed.... Hehe...

These names are hilarious.

I've always loved the T.S. Eliot poem "The Naming of Cats" (if you don't know it, you can google it) where it says cats must have "THREE DIFFERENT NAMES" - the everyday name the family uses; but also a more formal, dignified name. But lastly, the secret name they don't let you know.

I don't have regular middle names for my cats, but they all have nick names, giving them not 3, but 4, 5, or 6+ names.

Claude aka Little Bear, My Best Boy
Lily aka Sweetie Pie, Little Gum Drop, Monster, etc.
Ariel aka The Fog Ghost, The Farkel Sister (see "Laugh-In")
Harlow aka Daddy-o (shelter name), Cloud Cat
Tonya aka IBK (Itty, Bitty Kitty), Pip Squeak

But the more formal dignified name is one that is UNIQUE to every cat, as other cats may have the same every day name.

Kailie, writing it down was brilliant LOL.

Lazlo Beaulumper
Sheldon (Shelly) Wgyswld ("Wgyswld" stands for What a Guy, Sweet Loving Darling)
Spooky Underfoot
Tuxedo Ahhh ("Ahhh" stands for All Hail His Holiness)

Ming Loy WheresMingLoy ("Where's Ming Loy" is what she thought her name was the first few weeks
).
Billy Bumbletonwettail
Chumley Tenzig Norgay (Tenzig Norgay is the Sherpa that summited with Sir Edmund Hillary).

Our cats always have a middle name; for some reason, they usually end up being Irish.

Hannah Bea
Jack-ola (rhymes with cola)--don't ask me why, it just sounded right
