one of my cats has a recurring skin allergy, the cause of which we are still trying to determine (possibly a food allergy). Vet suggested an oatmeal bath so I read up on and ground up some oatmeal for a colloidal bath. But the instructions say you're supposed to soak the cat in the stuff for 5-10 minutes. No way is that happening with this cat without general anesthetic!

has anybody done this successfully? would it be good enough to soak a washcloth in the solution and hold it against the affected areas (chin, back, etc.)? The oatmeal is supposed to reduce itching and irritation so it sounds like just the thing she needs but I don't know how to make it work!
