Now that there are four kitties in our house we would like to start buying the biggest bag of dry food that wellness makes but it is not resealable so we are looking for a storage container. I have read that plastic dishes can cause acne in cats so I want one that is not plastic and have not been able to find one. We looked in the pet sections and the kitchen sections but didn't find anything that worked...any suggestions?

Plastic FOOD BOWLS cause acne in cats, and that is only because cats scratch the surface, bacteria builds in the indents, and your cat rests his face on those bacteria-ridden scratches. Plastic food storage is fine. The material you store food in will have no il effect on your cat

Thanks, those look great
I was concerned about plastic because we had a rubbermaid container for a while and one of the kitties got acne around the same time. Maybe it was caused by something else.

When I had only a few cats and before I had gone to any big petstores I bought a rubbermaid storage container and would just leave the food in bag and put inside. Worked well and no one ever turned down the food.

The only storage issue i have now is where to put that many bags and try to keep cats from tearing the top bags

Hi All,

Another idea for food storage is UTZ pretzel plastic "barrels". I am not sure if you eat enough pretzels to make that practical however
. But I have kept the same one for years to store dry food with no ill effects.
