Over the last few years, watching the National Dog Show has become a holiday staple for me. Just watching it off the DVR now - such beautiful dogs. It's totally amazing to me now to see all the different breeds coming from a common ancestor - wouldn't it be strange in a way if cats varied as much from each other as dogs do? I wish I knew more about the various breeds - I'm sort of at the 'aww, pretty' stage - and I've found it's apparently not 'good' to call a sheltie a baby Lassie! But I grew up with Lassie and thought she (he) was beautiful!
