A small piece of ham, usually the size of a cellphone... and lots and lots of cooked vegetables. Then dessert and tea.

I'm curious, would you happen to have a recipe for a corn casserole? It sounds like it might be yummy for my family.

Today we are having:
Turkey
Mashed Potatoes
Green Beans
Corn
Rolls
Shrimp Cocktail appetizer

Brother in law is making candied yams, MIL is making stuffing and a pumpkin pie.

I'm making a spiced rum cake, but haven't told them what my dessert is, my Turkey Day surprise

Growing up, it was:

Turkey
Chestnut/cornbread stuffing
Pearl onion "casserole"
Green beans almondine
Mashed potatoes & gravy (giblet gravy made from the turkey drippings)
Rolls
Pumpkin Pie
Apple sauce
Cranberry sauce

All of it was made from scratch, including pie crust and rolls, cornbread, and cranberry sauce.

These days.... whatever we feel like eating.
Today we're making stew, and I'm making cornbread.

Turkey, stuffing, salads, wine and tiramisu we made for dessert this year. We usually make three of four kinds of salads, like salad "olivier" that is super delicious but also ridiculously high in calories.
Typically the dessert is whatever my mom is good at making- she doesn't make pies but she makes amazing baklava and different kinds pastries with filo dough.

Normally we have turkey, but this year I told DH its either turkey now or turkey for Christmas, not both. He opted for Christmas.

So today we had lima beans and ham over rice, creamed spinich, rolls, pumpkin, and chocolate pies. I am stuffed. beans & ham over rice is like my all time favorite meal ever.

I do, indeed, and it's very simple. I got it off the internet and decided it was the best of several.

I can whole kernel corn, with the juice
1 can cream style corn
1 cup sour cream
1/4 cup sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup melted oleo or butter
1 8oz. box corn muffin mix
salt & pepper to taste

Use cooking spray on the bottom of a 13x9x2 inch baking dish or large casserole dish. Mix everything together in a large bowl, adding the muffin mix last. Pour into baking dish. Bake at 350* for 45 minutes. (you can use the 'toothpick method' to insure it's set up in the middle)

Good stuff!

Hmm, sounds easy enough. I shall look for the ingreds when I am out for groceries this weekend. Not sure if I've seen corn muffin mix, but I think I've seen cornbread mix, would that be the same?

Thanks so much for sharing.

Yesterday we all went to my parents' house for Thanksgiving dinner. My sister and I did the cooking, all the usual Thanksgiving dinner foods. Our desserts were pumpkin pies (of course), a chocolate mint pie, a white birthday cake with peanut butter frosting (my nephew-in-law's birthday), lemon spongecake cookies, and chocolate crinkle cookies.

I think I gained ten pounds!

I forgot you're in Canada; they don't have Jiffy Corn Muffin mix there? (I usually buy the store brand, but it's the same thing) I imagine corn bread mix would be the same thing. Just don't use plain old cornmeal---I know that wouldn't be right.
Hope your family likes it.

Turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, all covered in gravy, plus sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, jellied cranberry stuff, and cabbage salad.
