I've had Pirate on cosequin for two months and I've not seen results. He is limping from arthritis in his front shoulder area.

I'd like to hear if you've had good results from something other than cosequin.

Thanks for your opinions!!

I would say a good quality Hyaluronic Acid will be your best bet - I have my preferred brand, that I use both for myself and for Bugsy (on his case for bladder health), and Sharky also has her preferred brand that I understand she has been using it for a while. Mine is this one: Hyaflex Pure Hyaluronic Acid for Pets

Thanks Carolina, I'll check it out. Even though Pirate limps, it doesn't stop him from jumping up and down off furniture. Sigh..

My vet tells me that arthritis in cats isn't something that has been researched very extensively, and that it's only in recent history been acknowledged as a problem for cats. I don't know how much of this is true, but I do want to find something that will help him stop limping.

I'll check that website out, Carolina.

Adequan injections and k-laser therapy are now being used for cats with arthritis pain too. The next time I have a kitty with arthritis I'm going to do the laser therapy.

Be sure to discuss any med changes you want to make with the attending vet before trying anything new.

Carolina I think I'll look into the Hyaluronic Acid for myself.
