For the new kitty that somehow found his way into my home. I'm trying to get a good picture but it was after dark when he got here and I like natural lighting more.

I'm stumped. He's all black with greenish eyes and very fuzzy and puff-ball like. He's so tiny, only 2 months old. Soooo friendly and he purrs a LOT and LOUD. Likes to sleep on top of my head when I'm laying in bed.

I don't really want some Cliche name like Midnight
.

I've thought like...maybe Orion or Pluto or name him after some star... Not really sure

All I know is the name he had at the shelter was just really stupid. They were on a thanksgiving kick and all their new kitten's names were things like "Pumpkin Pie", "Turkey", "Stuffing", "Sweet Potato Pie".. etc etc. Cute but I don't really want a cat named Sweet Potato Pie..I dont even LIKE Sweet Potato Pie

If you like the THXgiving theme how about 'Tater' short for potato...

Or since he's black how about 'Kuro', Japanese for black.

I don't really know, maybe something like Salem. He sounds like a very happy boy.

In a state of misery w/o my Bella
I read a story one time in Cat fancy, about a shelter that names all their black cats Jellybean so that people would adopt them
If I get a black cat I will name him Elvis
Good luck picking a name...looking forward to pics

Congrats, I love black cats. In fact, I've only had black cats.

their names have been

- The Black Brotha
- Petrolio

and now I have
- Lears (he was all legs & ears when I found him)
- Choripan (it evolved from shorty)

But then again, I alwys find uniqu names for all my animals. I think the most normal named pet was "Freddy the Ferret"

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
How about Druze? Or Drusy (or Drusy)? It's a gemstone - tiny quartz crystals that can also come in black.

Congrats on the new member of the family!

I tend to pick a characteristic of their personality like "loving" or "playful" and put it into a baby name search engine. lol, usually there's a unique name that fits. My buddy has a sweet little ferret that we named "Mobbly" it means adorable. Fits him to a tee too, he even answers to it!

For anyone who wanted to see him. ^^ He's super active so it's hard to get a picture of him sitting still lol.

But here is Jynx greeting our resident kitty underneath the door.
