Signs of blockage in a dog?

The Min Pin I am sitting sometimes gets stomach upsets that make him chew weird things. I just came home to find his cloth toy slightly ripped and several bits of yarn on the floor. Most were about 2 inches, but one was around 5 inches. I'm worried that he may have eaten some of the strings.

It's 11 PM and I lack transportation to the vet. I need to know what symptoms I should be on the lookout for. He seems okay except for the stomachache that led him to shred the toy. I know he has shredded a rug before and didn't come to any harm.

What are the signs that a string has obstructed his bowels? If he shows indications of blockage, I will find a way to get him to the vet.

Vomitting , diarrea , often both ... Do you have the number of a ER vet? I would call and explain... there is a "home" remedy for this if not a complete blockage
