Me and the Graduate

I know, I know this is a cat site.

But just had to show this one picture of Nemo on his obedience training graduation day. This is the dog that broke my pinky finger with the leash on the first day of the classes. I have never been so pround of one animal as I was him that day. He got top honors(most improved from the rowdy dog)

Thanks Shell and Kim... Nemo is a puppy in this picture he is only about a year old and still has another year to go before he is a full grown dog.
Right now he weighs close to 100lbs. I had to do the obedience training so he wouldn't drag me down the road with my feet flying behind me

Beautiful dog! He's a Malmute, isn't he? I used to raise Samoyed's when I lived in Michigan. I love those dogs too!

My girl's in class right now and has her Canine Good Citizen test coming up at the end of August, then the advanced class graduation right after that. We have a LOT of work to do...

Good eye! Yes he is an Alaskan Malamute mixed breed that I rescued from our local animal shelter. When I first got Nemo he was about 4 months old and weighed 40lbs then. Those pale colored eyes and the vocals that he used when I first saw him melted my heart He is a real sweetheart for sure

Oh yeah pinky is much better now it still aches a little whenever the weather is nasty but that is something I can deal with.

yes he makes all kinds of sounds. My favorite is when we are playing fetch and he has the ball when I tell him to give it to me he does this kind of NNOOOOOOOOOOOO howling sound it is too cute
