Last night I cooked some duck fillets for me and a guest, and carefully drained off the fat to keep for potato roasts (yum yum). I left the fat to cool in a bowl before putting it into the fridge. Of course I forgot it and left it on the counter overnight.

This morning it was no real surprise to find the bowl empty and totally licked clean. But who was it? Everyone ate breakfast as normal, but I cannot believe that a whole cereal bowl of pure white duck fat can be good for a cat (or dog, come to that). I can only hope they shared it. But no one is telling.

Completely normal. And even if they weren't, I do not always know who has done what. Some of them look very similar.

Did the bowl remain on the counter or was it on the floor?

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
It's animal fat... they may have no problem with it! And I doubt any one of them could have finished it - they probably had a party last night!

Billy seems to be able to eat anything and not have stomach issues. He ate spicey Thai soup (before we knew we couldn't leave ANYTHING out at all EVER anymore
).

Hope all you get is kitties begging for duck next time you cook it!

Oh dear, I got such a mental image of all of them having a party eating the fat, like a big bowl of fatty treat

Oh my... Uuurrrp! I know I posted about this someplace else on here, but I have to hide any wild bird suet cakes that I have, b/c the boys will pull them down from the shelf in the garage (if already open) and NOMNOMNOM on them... seeds and all! I'm sure it's the rendered beef fat that attracts them... it's certainly not the white millet! LOL!

The bowl was still on the counter which made me think it was not Tasha, as she would have reached up and pulled it off (and broken it). But she pooped on the floor last night, which she has not done for months. Otherwise everything is normal today. So I guess I will never know how many took part. It is a lesson for Christmas, though.
