Getting Chummy and Copy Catting

Jennie is getting very chummy with Queen Eva. It surprises me, but I like it. She initiates Games with Queen Eva and now is making contact when on my lap. What next, Jennie and Queen Eva in a cat pile?



Queen Eva then adjusted herself so she could be closer to that reaching out paw.

But that's not all. Jennie is known for her Perpetual Hackle. I think it's the last hold over from her stray days, she raised a family all by herself and had to be on guard all the time.

So even after over three years safe in her forever home, she keeps that hackle up. Sometimes up higher than at other times, haha.

And right after I took these pictures of Jennie I noticed that Queen Eva had HER hackle up too. Not as impressive as Jennie's, but she's young yet....

Your picture - the first one - shows the proper placement of cats in a blanket.

I think a blanket and cat(s) between the legs bed is very common - I just had to laugh - I'm sleeping a whole lot different now since the cats make their bed between my legs. I guess sleeping on one's back helps keep wrinkles off the face.

Now, our older cat - KiKi, has his own pillow for his head. The queen size bed is no longer large enough for my husband, me and KiKi.

I just wish I could get a picture of him sleeping with his head on the pillow - just like mommy and daddy - and now that it's cooler in the house - he even has the cover over him, too.

Cats! I just love 'em!

Oh that's so sweet!! Street cat Jennie's got a soft spot that only Queen Eva has been able to tap into so quickly..


Genever's fluffed up with her hackle a lot of the time too, BF thinks she does it when she's cold, but she's done it in the summer too, when there's no way she could be cold. Then again, she is fluffy most of the time these days.. AND she has a hackle on just HALF of her head.

Aw, that is so sweet. Jennie is becoming attached to the baby! And, Queen Eva trying to raise her hackles is just too cute.

Thanks for looking, everyone! Queen Eva must be a very very special kitten since she has won Jennie over like this.

Jennie is a dear cat and loves the other cats (in spite of her trash mouth), and likes to be near them, but she does not seek out physical cuddling with the other cats. This reaching out to touch Queen Eva is...the more I think about it....an amazing thing.

I'm watching them now that I've become aware, and Jennie is always looking out for Queen Eva.

When Queen Eva first came Jennie was concerned the baby would usurp Jennie's Second Cat status. It seems that Queen Eva has somehow assured Jennie that she is not going to challenge the ranking in the household and this has won Jennie over.
