Hello, my name is Fabio, my cat's name is Shadow (male, 4 months) and I've had him for almost 3 months
I was looking around for a cat's forum so i can get help about something that happened to my cat, don't know if it's a big deal or something simple. I was making hot dogs with my friend, and my cat jumped on to the stove, and put his left paw in the boiling water pot, and i was actually trying to get him down before he did as such, but then he ran to my room. I assumed he got hurt, and so he did. That was friday, and now he walks somewhat fine, but he keeps licking his left paw, and sometimes he doesn't put pressure on it, as if he just doesn't lay one it, just lays on the right one (hope i made myself clear
) Can someone tell me if it's permanent or just something it will heal with time? Thanks in advance, here's some pics of Shadow

If he actually stuck his paw in boiling water, you MUST take him to the vet. He likely has severe burns and a cat's paw is subject to severe infections due to using the litter box. At least have him checked out to reassure yourself.

Hi there and welcome to TCS!

Your baby is adorable!
I too say that you need to take him to the vet though to be checked out. It is always better to be safe rather than sorry. Good luck!

Welcome!
Shadow is just stunning! I think you should take him to the vet as well. The burn could heal on it's own but there is just too much danger in getting an infection. Better to spend a little for the vet now to avoid what could be a larger bill later and shadow will heal faster
Let us know how he's doing. It seems you can't take your eyes off a cat for a second. They do the strangest things.

Hi there
we're so happy to get the chance to welcome you and your Shadow to TCS.

I hope that his paw is looking better, I'm with the others, a visit to the Vet would put your mind at rest and make sure that Shadow is not at risk from a nasty infection.

I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay with us - we're one great big family and you'll find loads of friends here. If I can help at all while you're finding your way around TCS just click on my username and send me a Personal Message - I'll do what I can to answer your questions.

Thanks everyone!! Yea I'm taking him to the vet asap, regardless I've had an appointment for his rabies shot this week, everything else is Okay. But he didn't stuck it in, he was sort of curious and kind of touched it, but as he felt it was hot he just sprang, and he sprinkled water on my face and on my friend's hand, it wasn't as hot as i thought it would be, but it was still really, really warm. So my cat got scared. Even when he stretches forward he doesn't take out his left claws. Sorry for the way i type, I'm in a rush

Welcome Fabio,

Shadow is adorable.

Our kitties can be such a worry at times.

how is your boy feeling today?
Did a vet get a look at him?

Sending some feel better quickly vibes to Shadow.

Please make yourself at home.

Well Im getting my new car tonight, so my appointment is going to be this friday, if not monday, but he's been better. He's just been licking his paw and he's careful with what he does now.

Congrats on your new car.

It sounds like Shadow's paw might be painful.
Hopefully this will be resolved soon.

I took him to the vet last night! (with my new honda civic
) and the vet gave him his shots, and told me that he's not too hurt, it's barely anything, he'll be fine
