Wow he is stunning. Absolutely gorgeous. I would love to visit a cat like that. I say visit because he is too much cat for this household full time for that many years.
Three homes already? Poor dude. I guess people couldn't handle him. I am amazed a vet would declaw a big cat like him.

I think this cat is so lucky to have you. I am glad he is starting to like you better. Why was he given up? How where you lucky enough to adopt him? I have a nonstandard F3 that I love to death. But boy is he a handful. I can not imagine what your boy is like. Any stories you care to share would be great.

He's just stunning. I love F1 savannahs, there's just so much wilderness in how they look. And you can see the serval markings on his ears!!

Congratulations to you and him!!! How wonderful. I have two Savannahs so if you have any questions, especially on diet and behavior I would be very happy to share my experiences. One thing about Savannahs, they do show their affection by nibbling. My Diezel nibbles on my fingers all the time and never hurts me. We also feed slightly cooked chicken breasts and legs. They are very smart and will become very devoted to you. My Savannahs require...demand...twice the attention my Bengals need. Just some notes from my experiences. Best of luck with him.

Nial had mentioned to me that Loki puts his teeth on him a lot and he seemed "mad" when he did it but that they weren't exactly bites. I watched Nial play with him on Sunday: Loki rolled around on his back, "growling" (the sort of growl a puppy gives when he's playing with a toy) and mouthing Nial's hand.

So I am certain that means that Nial has been completely accepted by Loki.
The successful integration seems to have proven absolute trust, at least on Loki's part.

My former feral, Ferris, gives me love bites. They were painful at first but he's since learned to be gentle.

I really like that the Savannah is so affectionate and intelligent, and so full of want-to-play energy! I'm jealous of those of you that share your lives with one or more!

It's funny you mention having two. My two are like having two children, totally opposites!!! Diezel is an F3, he is large, or should I say loooong. You look at him and he seems small but when he stretches out his body is crazy long. Jeter is an F4, just a year old and still growing but he is robust. Weights the same as Deizel but Deizel can stand over him and not touch Jeters back.
Temperaments are very different to. Deizel is very gentle and loves to be held and cuddled. When we clip his nails he lies back and rolls his eyes back, Jeter raises holy hell and wants to kill me, lol. Funny cause Deizel is more attached to me and Jeter is more attached to my wife. They are both full of energy, that is the same...all play. Deizel is a nibbler, never biting hard, Jeter is a biter who has hurt us with affection. Neil mentions that Loki is declawed, let me tell you about claws!!! The Savannahs claws come from above the toe and hook down, they are very long and razor thin.
With all that said, if someone can give a Savannah the required attention and exercise I highly recommend them to anyone, even people with young children. My grandson picks up Deizel and carries him around like a doll, it's very funny and Deizel comes back for more. Lots of attention.

Hi Guys and Gals,

My F3 Nonstandard red F3 Savannah is named Loki as well. Gee I thought Loki was an original name but I guess not.

My boy just turned four months old and is so long and lean compared to my other cats. Its just amazing to me how he has grown in the past two weeks. He likes to nibble on fingers. He runs around like a mad man as well. But when he is loving he will sit on my shoulder and purr or my lap and purr. He is sweet and hyper at the same time.

I guess my Loki will look like your Diesal. But I guess only will tell. I would like to make a Savannah cat thread. But not sure where to put it. Maybe you could all tell me?

Lastly what generation is your Naiel (sp wrong sorry)?

My Loki is a F1, first gen. Sire is an african serval. Dam is a bengal.

If you want to make a Savannah specific thread, you may want to start it in the Breeders Corner. That's where most breed oriented threads get started.
