In addition to the kitties, my husband and I enjoy veggie gardening. I also enjoy flower gardening, but not much is going on with the flowers these days. Here are some views from the veggie garden from this afternoon. You can click on the pics to be redirected to a larger view.

Ripe jalapenos

Bullnose red bell peppers (so sweet!)

A bee a buzzin' on the basil

Queen butterfly (I think) on the basil

Beautiful photos!

So that's garlic? I think we may have a rogue garlic in our garden then, it looks like flat grass just like that! For some reason I felt like it probably wasn't a weed so I left it there to see what it would become. How long til it's ready to be harvested?

NICE! I'm hoping I feel well enough next year to resume my gardening hobby. Beautiful pictures.

We too love gardening! Unfortunately, ours is one huge patch of snow right now.
Yours looks lovely!

The garlic will be harvested in early summer here. Last year was the first year I grew garlic and I'm hooked. I'm growing elephant garlic I got from a gardening friend. We used one of the heads of garlic in cooking and saved the other big head to plant this fall. My friend gave me some additional cloves to plant. All 15 of them have come up.

I love working in the garden, so I love to look at pictures from fellow gardeners! These are beautiful....I love your jalapenos; they look perfect! I should try to grow garlic next year....as much garlic as we use, I'd save a small fortune.

What do you do with your basil? Do you hang it up to dry? Or do you use as is? I like going outside when I'm cooking to grab some fresh basil and oregano leaves. We had a lemon basil that smelled wonderful. I wanted to try to dry some, but the drought hit our herbs hard.

I'm hoping that my knee will be Ok to let me get outside more often next summer.

Great pictures!

I'm a gardener, too! I just love it. But this time of year I'm trying as fast as I can to take care of everything outside to put it all to bed as winter is approaching fast.

I have lots and lots of wild garlic in my yard. My house is 85 years old, so there are a few things that are well established and that I had nothing to do with planting. The wild garlic is too prolific. So I cut off the flowers most diligently every year to prevent it spreading and I dig up a lot of it if it is where I don't want it. I do use the bulbs for cooking. They are very small compared to regular garlic. But they do the job and they are free. I harvest them in about June.

I grow basil every year. I make pesto out of it. I grow a lot of other herbs, tomatoes, lettuce, spinach, kale, peppers, and sometimes squash. That's it. I have a lot of flowers, too.

I'm thinking of getting a cold frame so that I could start growing spinach and lettuce in March or April. You're lucky in Texas that you can have a garden now. You make me long for spring. Beautiful pictures!
