Was kinda curious if there was a reason behind this. When I brought the kitten home Thursday night he had a giant poop at around 9pm. He hasnt pooped since and its been about 27 hours. He went from eating dry at his previous place to canned here. Hes VERY active lol

Obviously if it continues he would see a vet, but I just wanted your thoughts?

I would think he might have emptied himself out if he took a giant poop. I know if I take a massive poo I might not have to go for a day or so myself.

Obviously if it keeps up call the vet but it might just be because he pooped a lot that he cleared out his system. Especially if he's being himself and isn't showing any signs of pain or distress.

Also, the stress of being in a new environment can cause them to "hold it" until they feel a bit more comfortable in their new home. I would say if he hasn't pooped by the end of the day to be concerned.

In her OP Chloe16 mentioned that her kitten was fed dry at the place from which she got him and that she's now feeding him wet.

I think dry food has more non-digestible bulk so cats poop more. Wet food is more thoroughly consumed by the cat, so smaller poops.

Probably his gut is adapting to the change in food.

A huge one at that lol
The same thing happened each time when I brought my cats home. They're not entirely comfortable, so they hold their bowels for an extra long time. This makes their poops bigger, though less frequent. After a few days, my cats both started pooping more frequently with less volume per poop. It all sounds normal to me.
