Awww bless, Jane just phoned me to let me know how Harvey is doing, he is now out of the cage and has the run of the farm, she said he is a reformed character, no aggression and she said as soon as he sees people he runs upto them and purrs, rubs round their legs and you can even pick him up and cuddle him
What on earth?I asked her if she was talking about Harvey

It seems my boy is happy and thats what he needed, I feel bad that he couldn't be like that with me and it hurts but I am sooo happy that he is happy and he has found a great place to live. Jane said he is like that now because its just his territory and he rules the roost

She offered me a kitten
I said I just couldn't, Billy is still a bit unsettled and been peeing on the floor since Harvey has gone, which has got better, he was terribly grumpy in the first week but that seems to have calmed down now and he is more friendly and loving. The girls on the other hand have gone mad
Especially Smartie who runs round the house skidding on the rugs on the laminate

Jane said she will keep me updated and she asked me again about fostering too
I feel like I should help them for helping me, as my bunny has just passed I may have a look on their website to see what bunnies they have got, I could not upset my kitties again but a bunny yes I could have, I miss Rosie alot.
I still miss Harvey sooooo much but again, I'm so happy for my baby boy.xxxx

Oh Ruth, I'm so glad Harvey is happy now!
It's amazing how cats can change when they get in "their" element. I agree, he just needed to be king of his own domain. Some cats just can't handle indoor life with other cats. But it sounds like he is in heaven now.

So, are you planning on visiting him?

It is wonderful to hear how good Harvey is doing. I hope he continues to thrive in his new surroundings. I hope your kits will soon get back to normal.

Do you know I would love to visit him but I think it would be too painful. Even though he is happy I miss him terribly and I would just want to scoop him up and bring him home. At the minute I am just so grateful for Jane keeping me updated, I keep looking at photos of him and I remember silly things like the way he runs (its odd
) keep imagining him chasing chickens round the farm
My youngest daughter thinks he has gone to drive a tractor
. I may do one day, who knows.x

It's so nice to hear that Harvey is doing well.

You miss him but if you hadn't made the effort to find a place for there may not have been a happy ending.

Sorry about Rosie.

OH RUTHY!! This is the best news I've heard in a while. You deserve to hear some happy news about Harvey!!! You see how you made him the happy cat he is now? I know it hurts, but hopefully it'll get easier knowing that you've given him the life he's wanted!!! I hope my little Billy is OK. I love that little man!!!!

I'm so glad for Harvey, and I'm sure this lifted your spirits abit after finding poor Rosie. By the way, how are YOU doing, after your run-in with Harvey (bites and scratches)? Are you healing properly? No major infections?

Thanks hun, this really has made my day and she is such a lovely lady to just phone me, I had a pre-conception that she would look down on me for giving Harvey up but obviously not. Billy will be ok, I think he is missing Harvey even though they fought, at the end of the day I bet its hard when another kitty just "disappears" from the household, he must be kind of grieving. The peeing I just don't know, he has done it 3 times in the same spot, where Harvey used to sit all the time??And sometimes when you give him alot off fuss and cuddles he just turns and hisses at you, he has got better lately so I am hoping its just down to a re-adjustment period for him. I cannot believe how mad the girls have been though, they are truly enjoying the freedom of bein able to run around and not be chased, Fudge my three-legged baby has been downstairs alot and she is so nervous, she sleeps under our bed and hides there almost all the time but she has really come out of herself since Harvey has gone so thats really nice to see.xx

Ruthy, I am SOOOOOOOO happy for Harvey! That's just so wonderful!

I know it's hard on you, sweetie - but you know what just occurred to me? Apart from the fact that he needed to be an alone kitty with lots of territory... I wonder if he didn't have bad assocations with the house because of what happened to him there before?

You did an amazing selfless thing, sweetie, and now you know without a doubt it was the right thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If the rescue is anything like our local shelter, which is overwhelmed with bunnies right now, offering to foster one would really be appreciated.
That's great news about Harvey, and it's apparent that this was the best solution all around for the kitties. Billy may be marking places that still smell like Harvey to him to establish his territory - castration doesn't prevent some cats from marking, even if they were fixed while young.

Have had a look an dthey only have one bunny on at the minute. I would love another rex like Rosie, they are so beautiful. I had a very strange dream last night about Rosie and 6 abandoned kittens? How odd

I am just firmly telling Billy NO whenever he has peed and he does understand, I think he will stop doing it, its not been constant so I am not worried.x
