Abort or give birth...couple leaves it up to an internet vote

Either this is the most soulless couple on the planet, fame-seekers, or a ginormous internet prank, but the story is that a couple who are expecting are leaving the decision to give birth or abort up to the internet voting public.

Either way, it is, of course, ridiculous. Only the trolls are going to vote to abort. As the article states, someone can be pro choice, but that certainly doesn't mean they're going to ever choose to abort, or wish someone else to abort their baby.

Take the " gt1=43001" part off of your link and it will open.

I think they're just seeing what people will do. Sounds like a way to really rile people up in, as pointed out, that over the top bored trolling provoking that's ever so popular.

Of course people fall for it every single time even when they themselves like to provoke others. Expect at least a few comments on here from people that fall for it.

My best friend's husband went to school with the guy. While he can't confirm whether it's fake or not, he did say that it sounds just like something the guy would do to rile people up. He also stated that the guy in question wasn't the brightest bulb in the pack. *shrug*

Personally, when I went to that site my unborn daughter was moving and kicking. I can't imagine FEELING that and still going through with the site. Horrible.

Abortion is not something that should be taken lightly like this. I am a firm believer that it is up to the mother and father. No politician, or religious leader should have that right. Even if I may not agree, I do not have the right to make that decision for someone else.

Obviously they are just seeking attention. Sad people they are...

About the baby kicking comment... most abortions in the US happen in the first 8-12 weeks, meaning there would be no kicking. (Baby isn't developed enough at this stage.) Late term abortions aren't even legal unless serious medical conditions arise that threaten the life of the mother and/or child.

If there's people out there that are demented enough to think up such heartless nonsense then there are people out there who would actually carry it out

I saw that posted on a different forum, and if people really are going to do stuff like that, they probably aren't mature enough to have a child While I didn't vote, I know what I would have voted based on their immaturity.

Just because people voted though, still doesn't mean that they would have to follow through. To even make that kind of poll though is ridiculous.

I believe that varies by state. If true, it certainly didn't stop Dr. Tiller while he was alive.

But they are already at 17 weeks, which would definitely be far enough along to feel the flutters and early kicks. I started feeling them around 15wks (and no, it wasn't gas ). I'm now 20wks and 6 days along and DH has already felt her kick his hand.

They know the date in which they have to make the final choice, but I'm still not sure it's even true. Those US pictures could be pulled from online. But if this IS true, it's really a sad testament to the way these two people think.

If you don't want kids, don't have kids. Accidents happen, yes, but this far along, why not have the baby and then adopt out? So many other choices could be made and it's just heartbreaking to me, an expectant mother, to see someone giving up their right to CHOOSE to a bunch of strangers.

Sadly this situation is probably one of the worst ever. I don't want kids, but I use protection and hormones to stop that. Honestly personally I have a hard time justifying anything after 12 weeks myself. However there are circumstances... but those are all around bad situations.

And it does vary by state and I would have to look it up again but it is fairly strict across the board from what I remember.
