Well, I have started helping a friend of mine.. with her Bengal Rescue here in Florida. And got my first Foster bengal. I am New to the breed, but learning as I go. Lol

Well, About the Foster.. her name is Fiji, She is roughly 6yrs old. And is Spayed, UTD, and Front Paw declawed. She was with the same family for her whole life, but because of the economy.. They had to rehome her. The Director of the rescue, has a Bengal breeder as a friend (Where she got her 2 bengals) And sent her a pic of this girl, as her head is a bit different. And they said she is a Early Generation Bengal.

She has a Very Soft/Raspy Type meow. She is SUPER Sweet, and loves head buttin Ya!

She hasn't been intro'd to my animals yet, But she did live with another male Cat in her previous home.

She was on a Crappy food so her coat is something that needs work.. But she is on better food since being here.

Hope you get her a good new home quickly. I'm glad you have taken her in and thank-you for helping with bengal rescue!

Just a heads up for you, she isn't an early generation bengal. Early generation means they are 1 to 3 generations removed from the asian leopard cat. Her head would look much more wild and her body structure would be much different if she were that close to her asian leopard cat ancestor. I've included 2 images below of a F1 (early generation) bengal. This cat's sire is an asian leopard cat.

What Fiji is, is what we bengal breeders call an "old school" bengal, and she is pet quality. The breed has come a long way since she was born.

She is a beautiful girl. I hope she gets a good home soon. I am at my cat limit right now, but want to adopt a Bengal in the future.

And yes, we knew she was a "pet Quality" lol

In the month she has been open to intakes.. she has gotten WAY more cats then she expected.. Lol It is shocking how many people want to rehome there expensive Exotic Cats. Crazy I Tell ya!

I get to go to my first Cat show tomorrow! I am So excited to see what it is like!

Have you posted her on Petfinder? I bet you would be inundated with emails about her. People love the rare purebreds.

We are waiting on her Official State paperwork. She will be getting it around Jan. for her 501. And we are not doing adoptions till then. She had NO idea when she started getting her rescue name out.. there would be SO many coming out of the woodwork. So, we will do More to Show them off, once we get the state paperwork. If we get many more, she will just pay xtra and push up the date sooner. Lol

She is adjusting well to us. LOVES to be Furminated, and Catnip!
She does a very silly thing where she snuggles her back foot

Hi There!
She looks like a lovely girl. I'm sure she'll find her forever home soon.

If you are going to start helping out with a bengal rescue - I have a site that I have visited pretty much every single day since I got my bengal. It's a forum similiar to this one - but dedicated specifically to the bengal breed. Bengals have a lot of traits that aren't similiar to many other cats, and what some people think may be strange behavior by the bengal, it's really just a part of the breed! They also have a rehoming section - it may be a good place to post Fiji when you are ready to begin looking for her new owners.

Good luck to you and Fiji!
