A background on what we've been doing this week which might be something that caused this to happen to Luna.

Luna is 6 months old. Midnight is 3 and 1/2 months old. We've kept them seperated only letting them play for a little while each day. Until last Saturday when we got Soft Paws, because we didn't want them clawing and hurting each other in play.

Last Saturday the Soft Paws were put on, and since last Saturday we've let Luna and Midnight play all the time, sometimes really rough. I was hoping to get the 2 of them to sleep with me on the bed at night, but that hasn't happened. Usually by 2am I wind up putting them both in their carriers until morning, because they don't sleep, and are flying around the room waking me up.

Now last night Luna was fine when I broke them up and put them in their carriers for the night. This morning I fed Midnight in my room, Luna in the dining room. This morning she was perfectly fine. She had absolutely no contact with Midnight this morning at all, so it can't be something Midnight did.

We had a guy come in to fix somethings in the house. So the kittens went back into their carriers. Luna was fine when I put her back in her carrier. Her and Midnight both were in their carriers locked in the bedroom. I was in there with them the whole time so it's not something anyone did to her. All my cats are indoor cats only, so nothing could have happened to her from a car, or another animal, or a stranger.

After the guy left, I fed Midnight in my room again, and opened the carrier door to let Luna out. She rubbed up against my legs, which is something she doesn't do. Then I realized she wasn't rubbing up against my legs, she was leaning against my legs. I picked her up put her down by her food.

Luna ate fine, but when she turned to go away she was limping on her back paw. I watched her and she was keeping her back legs together pulling herself with her front paws. When I picked her up her back felt different like it was curved.

What happened to her? Like I said Midnight and her had no contact at all today, so it couldn't have been something he did, unless she got hurt last night? but she was perfectly fine this morning the first time I took her out. No one but me was with her when she was locked in my room. I've seen this in my grandparents dog when she was very old right before she died. That's what Luna's back legs reminded me of, but Luna is 6 months old and never showed signs of this before.

She is on a medicine called Panacur it's a dewormer, it's inside a syringe and we give it to her by mouth. Could this be a side effect?

It could be a lot of things. You need to get Luna to the vet ASAP in case it's something serious like a blood clot.

Please contact your vet immediately. I'm hoping it's nothing, or something easily treatable, but I really think you need professional advice on this.

Many prayers for you both.

Yes, could be a side affect of the panacur. Ataxia and disorientation. Tolly had it too, from drontal.

Get her to the vet, right now.

Please keep us posted.

Yes, do get her to. The vet right away. No matter what caused it, she needs medical attention.

It could be a side effect from the de-wormer. And if it had been a long time since she ate last, hind-end weakness can also be caused by low blood sugar.

I hope it's something easy! Poor Luna.

Luna's vet appointment is in an hour. I've kept her seperated from Midnight. She's been sleeping alot on the bed. She wasn't limping all that much yesterday, and even played for a little bit. But this morning she is really limping. I hope whatever is wrong with her is an easy fix and can be fixed right away. It can't be arthritis, she's only 6 months old.

I hate to say it, but it could be arthritis. We currently have a 7 - 8 month old cat at our shelter that has by-latteral luxating Patellas & mild hip displasia. In regular terms her knee caps pop out of joint & she has mild arthritis in her hip. She was born this way. For the most part she does fine, but sometimes she has trouble walking. We actually discovered it because her back legs went out one day & we rushed her to the ER.

I hope you kitty is feeling better soon & keep us posed.
