These are some of our current shelter cats that I mentioned in another thread.

The beautiful pointed cat whose color I couldn't describe.

The big long-haired seal-point boy, 8 years old, surrendered by the owner. His paws are about half the size of my palm.

And our very own Dewey cat. But his name is Polka. He had a sister named Dot.

I'll add Polka to my list of orangies that I'd love to keep, but alas cannot. Instead, I shall just covet him from afar. Beautiful kitties!

Is the Siamese boy skinny or is it just the photo?
No, he's built along the lines of a concrete block. Very calm, too. He didn't fuss at all when I combed several good-sized mats out of his fur and cut his claws.

He's about 6 months old, and a real lover. He was adopted once, but brought back for "allergies."

The bad news is that all of our cages are full, so they were already going through the roll, figuring out who is going to have to be put to sleep tonight.

The good news is that an owner whose cat was lost came in to pick him up. He was microchipped, and we called the owner that we had him; he hadn't thought to check with us yet.

WOW, that last one absolutely DOES look like Dewey!
They're gorgeous, and here's hoping they all find their forever homes quickly.

This is Sheba. I don't even know how to describe her color.

I just adopted her today for my brother, whose very similar cat died a couple of weeks ago of old age. He had her since she was a wet kitten, and he was very sad. I told him about Sheba, and the thought of her has kept his spirits up.

She wasn't getting adopted, and she is such a nice cat. She likes to be near "her" human, within reach. She has the sweetest little trill when she talks to me, and her fur feels like a sable coat.

Sheba is just gorgeous, your brother is lucky to get her.

All the rescues here have cats coming out their ears but Paul won't let me have another cat. Sadly my only choice in kitties are the feline leukemia positive variety and Paul doesn't want a repeat of Attitude. I want another cat for Nuts and for me but Paul refuses. Found some really pretty positive cats too.

That was a great thing to do for your brother and Sheba. Especially this time of year.

She is a lovely girl.
