My 7 year year old went to the park, across the street to go sliding. She comes home "MOM THERE IS A CAR CRASH AT THE PARK". Well that gets me and DH running. Jim ran out and sure enough there is a truck in the park. It belongs to the neighbour across the street. The park is on the other side of the street it, gentley slopes down aboout 15 from the street. Jim knocks on the guys door. Jim " Have you seen your truck lately?" Neighour "yeah it is park where I always park it. In front of my house" Jim "you might want to have a look. it is in the park, on the other side against the light pole" neighbour " No" He steps out and looks apparently his e-brake doesn't work so he left it in gear. He was able to drive it our but it is missing a bumper and there are live power wires in the park. He phoned hydro so the wires will be fixed soon.

Thankful no kids were at the park. This is the second time this has happened. Jim says thinking it over, we should have phoned the police. There is a damage and someone could ahve gotten hurt. I didn't think of that, I was just concerned if there was anyone hurt.

Wow that's scary! SO glad no one got hurt - but if this is the second time this has happened, he ought to be cited or something to fix that, because what if kids had been in the park?

I have decide to phone the village office this morning. I am going to tell them pole is damaged and the light is knocked off. I will tell them that a truck hit it. If they want more information then I will tell them. I am sure they will want him to pay for the damage that was done. I didn't see anyone from hydro come to look at the pole. I am worried about the wires on the ground.

Glad none of the kids playing in the park got hurt by the truck or the downed wires!

In a side note, he sounds like an idiot if this is the second time this has happened!

I am glad noone was hurt. I am not sure why he didn't fix it unless he was just between pay checks but if he would have parked it with the wheels turned where it didn't go down the road and in first gear it would not have done that, my old truck you couldn't set the e brake and that is what we had to do with it I ended up trading it now I wish I hadn't.

The man and is wife have 4 vehicles all insure three of them parked on the street. They own several duplexes and rental houses. I don't think money is the issue all of his vehicles and homes are in disrepair. I think it is just the way they are. The village came and cut the power to the all the lights in the park. I am hoping they will fix them soon. All of the neighbourhood kids like to slide there. it is dark by 4:30 ,
