We don't have a lot of cat shows in my area, so when I heard we had one in Pigeon Forge, TN this weekend, I decided to go check it out. I was really surprised when my friend Darryl who doesn't even own a cat said that he wanted to go, too. There weren't many spectators there (Pigeon Forge isn't a good city for that) and we were obviously non-cat-show people, so we had a lot of owners and judges explaining things to us, which was really nice. I enjoyed seeing the different breeds and I fell in love with one of the Ragdolls and the Birman that was there. I did commit a social faux pas when I asked one lady if her Norwegian Forest Cat was a Maine Coon. I got a detailed explanation of the differences between the breeds.
Here are the pictures from the show. They're not the best since I was trying to take pictures of moving objects indoors without a flash. If I hadn't had my high-end camera with good image stabilization, I doubt I would have gotten anything worth showing at all.
Siberian
Maine Coon
Sphynx
F1 Savannah Female. I didn't think you could show a savannah unless it was at least F4, but the rosettes on the cage make me wonder.
Beautiful Norwegian Forest Cat. I love his big head and the way he looks at you.
Bombay
Sphynx
Another Sphynx
This was the only Russian Blue at the show.
Cornish Rex(?) This cat got best in show for this ring.
More to come
