RIP Skunk, died of tumor at 3:45pm

Some of you might remember me..my Cat Skunk died today ..we had put him down

According to the doctors Skunk had a tumor in his leg..and it was really horrible..the skin all around was hugely swollen and looked very bad,reddish blackish and I was told it had already started to rot

In a normal situation the leg would have been cut off ...unfortunately Skunk was in remission for Leukemia and therefore he would not survive the loss of a leg

First he was given a sedative ..and I held his paws

..He was then given the "death shot" and I watched as those eyes of his stopped moving ...and the light left

I'm so sorry for your loss of your cat Skunk. What a very painful thing for you to have to do.

You did it out of love, and it was the best thing for him. I had to do something like that for my Sherman this last spring. He also had cancer and couldn't be saved. He was on the operating table and they had to call me to let me give the go ahead when they saw there was no hope. At least you got to be near him at the end.

I hope in time you will just remember all the good times and the good life he gave you and you gave him.

Skunk, RIP dear little one, now you can use all of your legs, playing at the rainbow bridge, no more pain for you little friend

Thank you everyone for your condolences..in this dark hour of grieving I appreciate it ....witness the last photo I took him in his final moments ....Sweet Skunk ..my precious boy

Skunk is beautiful and in a great place, the Rainbow Bridge. Rest in peace, Skunk kitty. Feel free to post earlier photos of him, if you feel up to it.

So very sorry you lost your sweet Skunk.

November 15 is the anniversary of my moms death. No one loved cats more than her. I would imagine she is petting him and loving on him as I type this.

Play at the Bridge, sweetie. You are young, healthy, happy and loved there...as well as here.

I bet he was so thankful that you were there with him and were unselfish enough to end his suffering. I am incredibly sorry for your loss of such a beautiful baby. Rest in peace precious boy.
