Shelter day today

And we're having a second kitten season. We had 13 kittens come in on one day, recently. Six of them (a whole litter) are painfully skinny. I think one may not make it. But he (and all the others) are lovers. They love to be held, want to rub on your face, the whole deal.

Someone brought in a big, beautiful long-haired Siamese cat. Very dark, seal-point. Built like a concrete block. But soooooo sweet. Eight years old. He calmly let me cut his claws and comb out several big mats.

Someone else brought in a cat of the most unbelievable colors. She's pointed, but not a lot of cream on her. But orange, gray, etc. I'd say she's a torti point, but that just doesn't cover it. Also, she feels like a sable, so silky!

Kitten season seems to be a year round thing here this year. They're everywhere and it makes it REALLY hard to adopt out the adults. I was in the shelter on the weekend and the had 3 beautiful siamese/mix females. One was a stunning seal point, huge girl, 8 years old. Dana had to drag me away.
