Thank you and your family for not giving up on this baby.

The TCS member with the blind kitty is FranktheTank.
(Sorry, I don't remember if it's Billy or Joey that's blind).

But your kitty will do just fine with one eye! She'll take a little while to work out the depth perception thing and be a little klutzy for a while - but kittens can be so very klutzy to begin with.

She's going to feel SO much better!!!!!

Continued all goes well!

...and I think we can all relate to the getting "over" emotional during times like this!

Many good wishes that the surgery is going well and that she has a quick recovery - and that you all have a good thanksgiving!

Aw, I'm so sorry you couldn't get off work in time! Was just checking in to see how things went.

I honestly don't remember how long it took Flowerbelle to recover. I think recovering from the effects of the surgery was pretty quick. Her eye was stitched shut - and I think we had to go back after 10 days to have them removed. I'll go see how much I posted about it here. But I'm pretty sure she'll bounce back right quick!
She'll feel a lot better without it!

Well I just looked it up and only found a thread about making the decision to have it out and the date of the surgery. I don't remember there being any issues.

Continued for your little one!

thank you!!!!
its so crazy to me, how much support all these people on here have given me through the past month! its truly amazing

on another note, i spoke to the vet that did the surgery. she said that lylah was a trooper and that the surgery went really well. she is just waking up now and i cant wait to see her in a few hours (i have to work until 7:30 actually, so thats a bummer). they didnt give her one of those elizabeth collars... im guessing because she is too small for one? when i looked online the smallest i found was 8" and her neck is probably like 3" so are there any suggestions if she starts to rub on her eye?? someone is going to be with her throughout the day, so we can watch her real good its just at night when we're sleeping its going to be hard.
i also got some ear mite medicine, some pain medicine and we were instructed to continue use of the viral medication and the oral antibiotic for another week.

I'm so glad it went well! Must be such a relief.

Continued for her quick recovery!

Hopefully she won't need a collar. We were very lucky - Flowerbelle didn't mess with it at all.

I've made a cone collar out of flexible cardboard once, but it ended up getting wet so I made another one out of plastic canvas and some foam craft board (both from Michaels). You could probably just use the foam board by itself but I thought it might be too soft so I use the plastic canvas for the cone and used the foam board to pad the neck area of it.
